My Adolescence Song

“Slow it down, make it stop, Or else my heart is going to pop. ‘Cause it’s too much, yeah it’s a lot, To be something I’m not!” The song “The Show” sung by Lenka captures my adolescence well because like the song my adolescence is very laidback and genuine. If things are running too fast I feel very rushed with too much emotions at once and would very much like to slow it down a bit. I am generally a calm person and like to take things in one at a time. Sometimes during my adolescence I feel like days are going by so fast that I barely have time to drink it all in. Then I would want to make it stop and take a break for a while. The second verse of this quote shows that I find it way too much to alter who I am. During my adolescence, I have ignored the pressure to change who I am and just gone with the flow. Wherever I will end up, I will keep on being me the whole way there! I find it just to heavy of a load to modify who you are when its just easier to be all-natural. Being an adolescent, I feel that time should go by slower and that I need to be myself throughout my life, just like “The Show” by Lenka.

My Rainbow Personality

Sunlight dappled softly across the sky, celebrating the end of the rain. The tiny rain droplets form a mist around the cotton ball clouds. Suddenly, a ray of light pierces the droplets and a magnificent display of colorful light spreads across the sky. It’s no wonder this beautiful show of lights reminds anyone of optimism! I think this rainbow in my quote and picture represents my personality because I’m not discouraged very easily. An example of this is when I have to do some schoolwork that I do not particularly want to, I just get it over with or find a way to enjoy it. I am rarely put down because I tend to look at the bright side of things. Like the rainbow in my picture and quote, I tend to be very optimistic.
